Doctors
Nova Scotia is the professional society representing
about 1,900 physicians in the province of Nova
Scotia. The society works in partnership with other
health care organizations to enhance the quality
of medical care for Nova Scotians through negotiations
on behalf of physicians with government, public
education, development of health care policies,
and peer review and medical education.

New Brunswick Medical Society
The
New Brunswick Medical Society (NBMS) is the professional
association for all physicians in New Brunswick.
The professional interests of the Society´s
members include the advancement of medical science;
health promotion and the improvement of medical
services; the prevention of disease; and physician
work-related issues. The College has the primary
responsibility for the licensing of New Brunswick
physicians, monitoring physician practices and
investigating when a patient files a complaint
against a physician.

Medical Society of PEI
The
mission of the MSPEI is to provide leadership and
representation for physicians, and to promote high
standards of health and health care for all Islanders.
The Medical Society monitors legislation which
may have an impact on physicians and their ability
to provide quality health care to the population
of the province, and is also committed to advocate
on behalf of the public with regard to issues of
health promotion and illness prevention.

College of Physicians and Surgeons of NS
The
College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia
is a not-for-profit organization that serves as
a licensing and regulatory body for the medical
profession within the province of Nova Scotia.

College of Physicians and Surgeons of NB
The
College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick
has responsibility within the province of New Brunswick,
Canada for the licensing of physicians; monitoring
standards of medical practice; and investigating
complaints against physicians. In addition to these
three primary areas of responsibility, the College
is often approached for advice in ethical, medical-legal,
and general quality of care matters.

PEI Department of Health and Social Services
The
mandate of the Department of Health and Social
Services is to provide for and deliver Health and
Social Services to the people of Prince Edward
Island. The Department of Health and Social Services
is responsible for the overall efficiency and effectiveness
of the provincial health system. This is accomplished
by working together with the Regional Health Authorities
in establishing the overall goals and objectives
for the system, developing policies, and allocating
funding to the Regions.
